In just five days—on Sunday, August 17, 2025—leaders, conservationists, and ocean lovers will gather in Hollywood, Florida, for LiveBlue Day at the Guardians of the Reef site.
I’m honored to join Ocean Rescue Alliance International (ORAI) for this transformational event, because their mission embodies the kind of leadership our world—and our oceans—urgently need.
Why the Ocean Is a Leadership Teacher
The ocean doesn’t just sustain life. It teaches it.
- Small ripples create waves of change.
- Resilience comes from connection.
- Stewardship is a two-way relationship—care for the ocean, and it will care for us.
This Sunday, those lessons will come to life through meditation, reef planting, community action, and a shared commitment to protect what sustains us all.
A Defining Moment Beneath the Waves
Years ago, I dove into a reef for the first time and found myself surrounded by a living cathedral of color and movement. In that moment, I understood: the health of our oceans is the health of our future.
That experience shaped my Lead with Soul philosophy—and it’s why I’m standing with ORAI now.
ORAI: Turning Vision into Action
Ocean Rescue Alliance International is redefining marine restoration through innovation, art, and community engagement.
- 50 reef structures deployed along four nearshore sites off Hollywood Beach—12 art sculptures, 38 coral nursery modules.
- 300+ habitat reef modules installed across South Florida through the 1000 Mermaids Project.
- Hollywood’s nearshore reef now hosts 100 artificial reef structures, boosting biodiversity and tourism.
- Reef modules can reduce wave energy by up to 75%, providing vital coastal protection.
LiveBlue Day: Wellness Meets Conservation
LiveBlue merges the calming “blue mind” science of water with tangible action. On August 17, participants will:
- Begin with ocean meditation and yoga
- Join reef planting and snorkeling sessions
- Take part in a beach clean-up
- Leave with renewed energy and a deeper sense of responsibility for our oceans
